The Reality for Ambitious Surgeons
Workshops remain observational. Back in your home clinic, you are alone. The transfer to real patients often fails.
MIMVS has a steep learning curve. "Learning by doing" alone risks complications. Don't gamble with outcomes.
Patients demand minimally invasive techniques. If you can't deliver safely, you risk losing referrals.
The Result: Surgical Freedom & Reputation
Imagine performing a complex mitral valve repair via mini-thoracotomy with the same calmness and routine as a standard sternotomy.
Why choose the Czesla Consulting - Mentorship?
If you want, this program offers a optional mentorship to ensure you can actually perform the procedures safely. When unexpected situations arise during surgery – bleeding, technical challenges, anatomical variations – you have me as an experienced surgeon beside you who intervenes before complications develop.
| Standard Workshops | Czesla Coaching - Mentorship |
|---|---|
| Primarily observation | 100% hands-on-training |
| External Center | Your O.R., your instruments |
| None Safety Net | On-site proctoring: I scrub in with you |
| No team integration | Your entire OR team receives preparation and briefing |
Real Surgeons. Real Results.
“I knew the theory, but I lacked the confidence to start the program alone. Markus didn't just teach me the stitches; he structured the entire workflow for my department. Today, we are the regional referral center for minimally invasive valve repairs.”
"The step from sternotomy to mini-thoracotomy felt huge. Having an experienced proctor scrubbed in next to me changed everything. When bleeding occurred in my second case, Markus intervened calmly, taught me the fix, and we finished safely. That lesson was priceless."
"I was skeptical about bringing in an external consultant. But the 'learning by doing' approach was costing us too much time in the O.R. With the Czesla Mentorship, we reduced our cross-clamp times by 40% within the first week. The program paid for itself."

About me
I am a cardiac surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, specializing in minimally invasive mitral valve reconstruction. I had the privilege of being at the Heart Center Leipzig (Herzzentrum Leipzig) during the very years in which this technique was developed — working alongside my mentor and contributing to its establishment as today's gold standard. When the center later created a dedicated, multi-month fellowship to teach the method, I was the first surgeon to complete it, spending close to two years fully immersed in the technique with daily, one-on-one coaching. Few surgeons have known this procedure as long, or as closely, as I have. Over the years, I have also seen how difficult it can be for colleagues to confidently apply in the operating room what they have learned in theory. That is why I dedicate my work to helping surgeons bridge the gap between knowledge and safe surgical practice.
My mission
Passing on surgical knowledge is not only a professional duty — it is my personal commitment. Having been part of this technique from its earliest days, and the first surgeon to be formally trained in it, I feel a particular responsibility to share what I have learned. I believe that advanced techniques such as minimally invasive mitral valve repair must be taught openly, so that every surgeon can operate with confidence and precision. By mentoring colleagues and ensuring proper training — the same kind of close, hands-on guidance I once received — I help improve outcomes for both surgeons and their patients. In the end, everyone benefits: better procedures, faster recovery, and safer care.
